A Gen Y’er on a late Sunday night

Common characteristics are shared on late Sunday nights by Gen Y’ers around the world.

You make it a goal to get to bed early, but the chances of you falling asleep right away are slim to none. Part of the reason is because you stayed up till the wee hours of the morning the past two nights. But that’s not really it….

The real reason you can’t sleep is because you are thinking about your week ahead, your career path or quite possibly how you got to where you are today. For whatever it may be, your mind doesn’t shut off. You glance over at the clock and it shows 4 a.m. You have to leave for work in three hours. You tell yourself to shut your mind off, but usually it doesn’t.

According to Jim Peduto, Gen Yers are ambitious, hard-working and communicative, but impatient and skeptical.

Those characteristics contribute to many Sunday nights of thinking about where you have been and where you’re going.

Well. This about sums up every Sunday (slash every single) night for me. It’s difficult to calm the mind at night. There are waaaayy too many things to think about. Someone once told me that to help fall asleep try to relax every inch of your body starting with the toes. I only do this on really bad nights. It works if you concentrate.

Or you sit up plotting ways to execute plans to do the unthinkable. Or at least, the “I know this is crazy but…”

Great post. If nothing else, I think we’re up a lot more, just with all of the possibilities literally at our finger tips.

Nice blog you’ve got here. 🙂
